Hello 👋 I am neurodiverse and live with my patient and incredible husband; 2 very kind, intelligent, funny, and albeit stroppy teenagers, 2 extremely cheeky and cunning dogs, and lots of fish! During my ‘spare time’ (lol), I play Soft Ball Cricket for Tuddenham Twistas, read (A LOT), and hyperfixate on something that I’m never actually going to do again for months, like crochet, bullet-journalling, colouring, playing Pokemon Go or playing Animal Crossing on my Nintendo Switch (I cannot wait to find out what my next obsession will be). However, I will never not be absolutely obsessed with everything Disney!!! I started working with children over a decade ago as a Teaching Assistant, I was then given the opportunity to become a Learning Support Assistant for children with additional needs. It was then that I discovered that I had a passion for finding solutions to ensure a child reaches their full potential, by developing a positive attitude towards themselves, by accepting who they are and celebrating their uniqueness. Using my own life and work experiences to find solutions to support the child, family and educational setting, I have developed a very down to earth, practical approach. I am friendly, kind, non-judgemental, accepting, positive, optimistic and have a great sense of humour. Because of this I am able to build and maintain a safe and trusting relationship with children, allowing them to be their true, authentic selves. With these skills and qualities I have now also gone onto being a Therapeutic SEND Practitioner within an alternative provision. My daughter is also autistic (now in year 11) and she was not diagnosed until she was 12 years old. This was only achieved by going privately through the National Autistic Society with the support of her amazing grandparents (shout out to Nanny and Grandad Slippers). I know what it is like to be on this journey that you are currently trying to navigate, the looks from others, the judgement, the self doubt, the guilt and the despair. It is lonely and overwhelming and there seems to be no support, along with constant battles that leave you both physically and mentally exhausted! I am fortunate enough to be able to see things both from a parent’s point of view and an educational point of view, allowing me to support and advocate effectively. This is why I started NeuroSparkly Advocates! Lots of love, and I hope that I can help to support you and your family. Sarah

Success Stories

What Families Say

“Sarah is an incredibly caring and supportive person, she has really understood our son and how autism makes him see the world differently. Sarah engages passionately with his special interests and knows how important these are for social moments and connection. She always considers his sensory differences and needs, and appreciates how important these are for him and how he might find changes or moments challenging. Sarah is highly capable and adaptive to using different methods of communication to help our son engage with the world and others, particularly by using a special programme on his ipad (PECS and now ProLoQuo) to help him express what he needs and wants. She’s got a kind, friendly, bubbly outlook on life and loves being silly and engaging to make every moment as special as possible. Sarah also wants to learn and grow, as a Mum she understands how important this is to support our children’s development.”

"Sarah came to work with our family when we were reapplying for an EHCN Assessment for our autistic daughter. Our previous application had been rejected and we were feeling daunted and overwhelmed by the prospect of reapplying. Sarah guided us through the process, step-by-step. She completely understood our daughter's needs and helped us to communicate these to make sure our child had the best chance of accessing the services she needs to support her. Sarah brings a wealth of professional and personal experience to her role; her approach is so genuine and down-to-earth, that we immediately felt comfortable opening up to her. And what's more, our daughter's EHCNA application was accepted this time! Thank you so much, Sarah."
